@lewbryson Single malt whiskey absolutely is a process, one that takes product all the way through to bottling. By definition. Malt whisky is also a process, one that does not include the blending and bottling stage.
@lewbryson Another note, we created this because it is AMERICAN single malt. I don't want a connection to Scotland, but to the method of production. I wouldn't want to call our whiskey "single malt Scotch" even if we could, because we aren't trying to replicate the whole Scottish thing.

Japanese whisky is a mess because they didn't do the same thing. The point is to not allow an opening for unscrupulous producers to abuse, because they will.
