Serving Albertans as a Minister has been an honour and a privilege.
Earlier this year, I informed the Premier that I will not be seeking re-election and have asked to step back from Cabinet to support an orderly transition. I will continue to represent and serve the constituents of Calgary-South East at this time.
I continue to support Premier Smith and the United Conservative government as we work to ensure Alberta remains the best place to live, work, and raise a family. See my full statement below.
We fight because every investment, every new job, every business that chooses Alberta means a parent can provide a little more for their family, a young person can build a career close to home, and a community can grow stronger.
That’s the Alberta Advantage. And it’s back!

One of the largest private sector investments in Canadian history is coming home to Alberta.
@Meta has chosen Alberta for its first Canadian AI data centre, a historic $13 billion investment that will create thousands of jobs, strengthen our economy, and help position our province as a global leader in artificial intelligence and technology.
This project will support 3,000 construction jobs, 300 permanent positions, generate an estimated $250 million in annual benefits for Albertans, and invest $60 million into local roads, water, and community infrastructure.
Meta is fully funding new generation and grid infrastructure to support the data centre, which will improve reliability across the entire Alberta grid benefiting electricity customers across the province by reducing transmission costs by up to six per cent on Albertans’ utility bills.
We are proud to welcome Meta to and thank them for their confidence in our province, our economy, and most importantly, our people. Alberta has the energy, talent, and ambition to power the next generation of innovation.
🔴 BREAKING: I am joined by Ontario Premier Doug Ford to make a major announcement about how we can get even more Alberta energy to market. https://t.co/Vpbk2rDjDu
Canada has everything it needs to become an energy superpower.
Today, Alberta’s government submitted our West Coast Oil Pipeline application, along with new industry partners, to the federal Major Projects Office for Project of National Interest designation.
This nation-building project would connect more than one million barrels of Canadian oil per day to world markets, create tens of thousands of jobs and strengthen Canada's economy for generations.

⚠️Kananaskis Improvement District and Kananaskis Country have issued a State of Local Emergency due to ongoing rainfall and localized flooding affecting road access and several recreation areas.
Some road access remains limited in parts of Kananaskis Country. We are actively working to establish road access for those currently unable to leave the area. Visitors in the area are asked to remain where they are if it is safe to do so. William Watson Lodge and Peter Lougheed Discovery Centre are available as a temporary shelter for those who require a safe, dry place to stay.
Visitors are encouraged to postpone non-essential travel until conditions improve. Impacted reservations will be automatically cancelled and refunded.
Emergency teams continue to coordinate response efforts and are monitoring infrastructure, supporting campground operations, and maintaining road closures where needed.
Updates will be provided as available at https://t.co/28nKSlvDtm
Alberta is diversifying its economy with more investment in sectors like technology. This means more jobs, economic growth, and sends a clear message that Alberta is the best place to do business.

Beginning July 1, 2026, families with a household income below $225K will be eligible to receive $100 per adult through the new Alberta Energy Rebate.
The rebate will put revenue collected from high energy prices back in the hands of Albertans to help with the costs of fuel and other household needs.
Higher energy prices don't just affect what people pay at the pump. They can increase the cost of groceries, utilities and other household expenses.
Our UCP government is delivering more savings with more flexibility, to meet the challenges families are facing today.

Canada may be in a recession, but Alberta sure isn't 💥
Thanks to having no PST, the lowest corporate taxes in Canada, aggressively cutting red tape, and a relentless focus on keeping Alberta affordable, we continue to be the economic engine of the country. More evidence that Alberta can keep growing and thriving in an uncertain world 📈
Alberta officially welcomed CGC Inc. as it opened its new state-of-the-art wallboard manufacturing plant in Wheatland County. This $210 million investment will create jobs, strengthen Alberta's manufacturing sector, and generate opportunities for decades to come.
Congratulations to CGC Inc. and its parent company, USG on this historic milestone. Thank you for the confidence you've placed in Alberta. We look forward to your continued success in the years ahead.

I’ll be taking questions from the media following today’s historic announcement with Ottawa on a new pipeline to Canada’s west coast. https://t.co/wO0e41hlxE
Great news Alberta!
A critical milestone has been reached under the Canada-Alberta energy agreement (MOU) so that our province can expect approval from the Federal Major Projects Office for actual construction of the West Coast Pipeline on or before September 1, 2027.
When achieved, this would be the fastest approval of a major oil pipeline from Alberta in a generation!
This project will deliver 1,000,000 new barrels of Alberta oil every single day to new Asian markets, creating jobs, strengthening our economy, and generating a phenomenal amount of wealth for Albertans and Canadians for decades to come.
And just as importantly, Alberta has successfully fought to permanently end Justin Trudeau’s punitive oil and gas production cap and roll back his absurdly high industrial carbon price to a much more realistic level that will save our job creators over $250 billion and protect the livelihoods of Alberta workers.
This is what happens when Alberta stands strong.
