Funky Adirondack chair on someone's porch here in Ottawa's Centretown. You never know what you're going to find in this diverse, eclectic and amazing neighbourhood.
The words "congenial" and "conjugal" are close in spelling and a typo will force autocorrect to pick one.
"will improve effectiveness and create more conjugal team interactions" is NOT want I meant to say.
After seeing the Ottawa Charge win against the Victoire, time for the first back porch writing evening (plus dog, bottom right). I go outside and have near miss with a bat. No bats in the pics I took, but they are up their and feasting on mosquitos. Good bats!
@typicallydia I recall this movie as bonkers. Up there with HIGHLANDER in inventing and explaining a mythology while telling an action story. And Billy Zane?
Glad to see a new business opening on Somerset West in Ottawa's Centretown. Instant du Palais's West African cuisine joins a variety of restaurants on Chinatown's eastern edge.
Out at the @RoyalOakPubs on Bank Street to watch the last period (and then first OT) of the @PWHL_Ottawa Charge, but representing my @UConnHuskies & enjoying some of my old college days beer, @BuschBeer.
Glad to see the Charge make it to the finals!
Out for pub grub at Centretown's legendary Pour Boy pub and found "PENIS" and "Boobs" carved into the table top. You never know what surprises Somerset West will throw at you. My fish & chips were tasty. Highlight, of course, was my brilliant, funny and stunning wife.
Spraying just one dandelion with roundup will kill 100+ pollinators.
The flower will take days to die, and in that time will be visited by dozens of bees and butterflies, poisoning them as well.
The exposed pollinators don't die quickly, as they would with insecticide exposure. The death is slower and more brutal.
In the case of bumblebees, they lose their ability to see colors, can't find flowers, and starve to death.
If the dandelions truly are a hell no for your yard, pull them. Don't spray them.
Patios packed and windows open on Elgin Street for the @Senators vs @Canes. Great day for a dog walk and every bar I passed had the game on and people watching. This weather will be gone tomorrow so glad so many are out enjoying it.
Canine diem!
My dog is loving this unusually warm weather here in Ottawa. I'm glad he can't read the weather. Cold and rainy for a few days starting tomorrow, but for now it's all about the hot weather and great smells in the air. (And barking at squirrels. Sorry, neighbours.)
@valkyries@c_ducharme3 Maybe she won't make it. Maybe the injuries are too much.
F**k it. She's gonna try. No more "team mom" but player.
All the "Nah she's done" types are talking more about themselves and how they never tried than about her. Respect the grit.
More from the "Never know what you'll see in Centretown" file.
Walking around Ottawa and saw these shoes neatly arranged on the steps outside a building along Somerset Street West near the Art House Cafe. No idea what the stories is, but that's Centretown for you.
Might be hard to read, but a future entrepreneur wrote in chalk on the sidewalk:

I spotted a number of these messages in Ottawa's Centretown while out walking my dog.
