The #1 thing that increased my workflow in @Ableton Live was taking time out to create and utilize the template feature. Ableton 11 literally made this made easy.

Disclaimer: I'm no expert. I'm still pushing through all of this but I'm at a place where I have a small studio space of my own now. Still working part time at another job but absolutely loving the fact that the business I've created in something I'm passionate about is growing.

How I transitioned out of my job and into producing and recording music:

1. Stopped allowing my insecurity to cause inaction.
Not everyone likes chocolate chip cookies...Just because one person doesn't like the beat doesn't mean everyone will hate it.

Disclaimer: It took about a year. I was producing and recording people at other studios late at night after work. Built up the soft skills to get a few clients that I would bring to the house to record (this allowed to not have to split finds with the studio.

4. Set the first goal of trying to make 1/2 of what I made at my 9to5 with music.

If I could do that then I could quit and find a part time job that would cover 1/2 my income and then work the other 1/2 part time in production, engineering, and mixing.

3. Investment in knowledge

I KNEW that I DIDN'T KNOW how to quit my 9to5 to make music. So I got into a mentorship program (that cost me a good amount) to help me with getting things moving...next step is what I did from what I learned.

2. Got fed up with my inaction

I realized that I was madly in love with music & every single aspect of it. It used to be a toxic relationship... I would leave it for months / years but it always took me back. Not (at least) trying to pursuing it would have left me with regret.
