Austen Truslow turned pro 11 years ago. Battled the chipping yips before changing to one-handed technique.
In 2020 he had KFT status, and was playing really well, had a runner-up and three total top-fives in 17 events.
Then he slammed his finger in a door and it started a horrible run of bad luck.
- He came back from that and got Covid
- He came back from that and got hit in the ankle by a shot from a pro-am partner, out for a couple of weeks.
- He came back from that and tore two ligaments in his wrist. Out for 21 months.
Medicals on KFT don’t get you into any events really so he finally got healthy and went to the Asian Tour.
He’s been over there for years played solidly.
Today he qualified for the Open Championship.
He’s also a great dude, we talk often, and I’m super happy for him.
One-handed chipping? It's the preferred method for mini-tour pro Austen Truslow! 👀
The medalist out of our Florida final qualifier walked us through why.

Is your greenskeeper so elite, that he lies down in the direct line of fire during men’s league to fix a water line only using a golf cart as a shield? #Golf
