Today I visited Gaia, the she-wolf I became a patron of last year. It was a downpour and Gaia wasn't exactly cooperating, so it took a bit to get a decent shot, but look how gorgeous she is! ๐
When in Vienna I also bumped into Grete Walz, a local YouTuber making videos about the city. I watched most of her content when planning my trip and I still can't believe I randomly spotted her across the street!

I normally don't celebrate my birthday, but this year I decided to treat myself with a little trip to Vienna! I can definitely see why it's considered one of the great European cities. Not to mention that it's only a short train ride away from the Alps!
When I still streamed I'd sometimes come up with a wanky 2-0 or bust kind of deck. It's been a while since I posted anything #Gwent related, so how about I share another list like that? https://t.co/mbAjhcbTua
For now my mild obsession with Switzerland feels somewhat satisfied. At the same time my wallet is going through an episode of major depression... and it doesn't know yet we're heading back for six weeks come May ๐
I rarely if ever post about #Gwent, but whenever I feel like playing a match or two, this is my deck of choice. Not sure if it qualifies as "ethical" considering the number of control tools, but thus far I've gone 27-2 with it this season, so who cares? https://t.co/B4hfwEUfNx
Just received a written confirmation that I'm now a patron of a six year old she-wolf named Gaia who's being cared for by the Alternative Wolf & Bear Park in Germany. I feel proud, happy and already looking forward to see Gaia again!
I have around 100 paperbacks, maybe more. I still need to read a few of them, but once done I'll donate all my physical books to the local library and get me an e-book reader. It's time to go digital.
Yesterday me and my brother took our dad to the National Military Museum and then had a dinner together. I reckon it really made his Father's Day. Heck, I myself was surprised by how good the museum was even though I'm normally not exactly excited about anything military.
Nothing lasts forever and this trip is no exception. Heidelberg is a nice city, but four days definitely feels like overkill. Currently on a train back home. I've to say I miss my own bed.
Salzburg is such a treasure. Unfortunately, after 19 days of sun the weather took a turn for the worse, so I decided to let my legs rest before moving to Heidelberg tomorrow.
I've to say, being constantly surrounded by Alps is a surreal feeling for someone from the Netherlands. Nonetheless, Innsbruck was a blast and I'm sad to leave... will report again from Salzburg!
Switzerland did not disappoint! Basel was great and so was Lucerne, not to mention the hikes in the Jura and the Alps. I'll miss this place, but now it's time to take the Transalpin to Austria!
It feels like I only got to Strasbourg and it's already time to leave. I was really surprised by how many people cycle here. Overall it feels like a great city for a short trip. On to Basel now!
Luxembourg feels intense for a city its size. It's gritty, with a lot of hustle... and yet it offers a lot of hiking trails and green spaces and it has a picturesque old town. But, it's time to leave. Strasbourg coming up next!
Maastricht is in the books! While I knew of the city's historical charm I didn't expect there to be so many hiking trails in the hills. Quite an experience considering we're still in the Netherlands. Now on to Luxembourg!
In the near future I'll be solo interrailing for about a month. Eight countries, at least a dozen cities. A few of my friends already asked to receive regular photo-updates. But, how about you guys? Is that something you'd be interested in? Be honest๐
A couple of years ago I visited a small village in the Black Forest wanting to learn more about my family's history. Now it feels like my second home. It's funny how our past can shape our present selves.
