@glen_mcgregor @CanLII My father WT McGrath, who led the fight to abolish capital punishment in Canada, was outside the prison that day protesting their execution. I am so grateful to him and others who saw it was wrong for the state to commit murder to show murder is wrong.

At this point, there is no one in the White House that isn't taking Russian money.

Trump and his whole team are a complete disgrace.

Daughter of White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles is being paid $35k/month, as a lobbyist, working for the Russians in the Balkans.

Here she is in a photo uncovered by CBS, posing with the Interior Minister of the pro-Russian authoritarian government of Republika Srpska.

The Daily Drum
Today’s drum features the Beluga Whale.
Beluga whales are known as "canaries of the sea" because of their musical voices and talkative nature. Legend has it that sailors believed the songs of belugas were the voices of drowned men speaking from beneath the waves.

I’m begging you. Stop and watch this one minute.

This is not a movie.
This is Ukraine today.

As of 4:00 p.m., at least 37 people have been killed and dozens wounded. Among them are children.

▪️Kramatorsk: 33 killed, 18 wounded.
▪️Kyiv: 4 killed, 14 injured.
▪️Sumy: 1 killed, 4 wounded, including two 12-year-old boys.
▪️Mykolaiv region: a 3-month-old girl and a 1-year-old boy wounded.
▪️Kherson: a 14-year-old girl wounded.

This is not a battlefield report.
This is daily life for millions of Ukrainians.

Please. Look at it. And act — if there’s any humanity left.

We need to understand what’s going on here. The only thing that can stop billionaires and trillionaires from turning their wealth into outright authoritarian power is democracy. That’s why they’re fomenting division in Canada & other democracies. They want to break us to own us.

From the British Blue Community 'We Own It': LET THEM GO BUST !
Last year, Thames Water took out a £3bn loan - at 9.75% interest.
And now they want another £2.4bn to keep going?!
ENOUGH.
If water companies can't survive without rip-off loans, they should be declared insolvent...

[Gil McGowan @gilmcgowan]

This hits the nail on the head. Alberta separatists are rolling out the red carpet for Trump Republicans. But “freedom” is the last thing we’ll get if we open the door to becoming “MAGA North.” Thanks to artist David Parkins from the Globe and Mail for this drawing.
