The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. https://t.co/8AyV60gg1X
@berezin_goal Unlike other guys who play with his grit and toughness, Duhaime can skate as well. In fact, everybody on that 4th line: Blueger, Duhaime and MacEwen are all very good skaters and tenacious checkers. The Leafs may have found something here.

@nylanderthews@Moose030834 I don't know how you acquire a premier defender at this juncture. I don't think the Leafs have enough prospect capital, and I'd be interested to see Danford play with the Leafs before using him as trade bait, if at all.
@nylanderthews That's a smart point about Marchenko and Matthews.
Here's a thought: how about trying Matthews with both Cowan AND McKenna?
Then try Paul with Nylander and Marchenko, both of whom can drive play?
When he gets back, maybe pair Tavares with Roslovic and Sissons?
On the other hand, if we didn't trade Minten (a thoroughly disastrous trade), we might not have fallen low enough to get McKenna (which in itself was an incredibly fortuitous stroke of luck). But you're 100% right. We need to play these guys, rather than giving them away for nothing and then overpaying their free agent replacements. Let's give Rifai and Danford opportunities to play.
I confess I wasn't sold on the trade when Chayka made it, but from the first moment I saw Marchenko play, I could immediately see the rationale. It sucks, because I really like Knies, but you have to give up quality to get it back. Marchenko drives play in a way that Knies on his own could not.
The real challenge now is that I don't know how Chayka will rebuild the blueline. I don't think there are many assets to deal to acquire a top 4 blueliner. I'd like to see Danford be given a shot soon to see what he can do up here, esp if McCabe is out for a while.
@michaelbd Rubio is gaslighting us. I doubt there are issues about "talking" to either Russia or China. The real issue is the nature of the concessions made following these discussions.

@_CDave@grantcohn Depends on the return. Even though they are respectable this year, I still think the Raiders are still in rebuilding phase and could use more picks. Not sure Crosby fits into their long-term timetable.
