DID YOU KNOW: Ancient luaus could be massive. In 1847, King Kamehameha III hosted a feast with more than 4,000 taro plants, 271 pigs, 482 gourds of poi, 2,245 coconuts, and 5,000 fish. That’s not dinner, that’s history with a serious appetite.

Kihei Beach 203 is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath beachfront condo on Sugar Beach with a private ocean view lanai and elevator access. You’ll have a king bed, central A/C, an in-unit washer and dryer, and a remodeled kitchen, plus the resort has an oceanfront pool, gas BBQs, and a rooftop deck for sunset time.

La Perouse Bay, also called Keoneʻōʻio, sits at the end of the road in South Maui, a few miles past Big Beach. It’s rugged, remote, full of lava rock, and feels like Maui with all the polish stripped away.

Maui’s best days don’t fit neatly into one category. They’re part ocean, part mountain, part waterfall, part “how is this place even real?”

For a classic South Maui ocean adventure, @kaikananimaui snorkel trips are hard to beat.
From Maluaka Beach in Mākena, you'll head out to explore clear water, coral reefs, tropical fish, and sometimes honu or humpback whales during the winter season. https://t.co/55LVz2omCd
#Maui has plenty of beautiful elopement spots, but they all have a different feel.
Poʻolenalena is a strong pick for privacy and open sand. Polo Beach works well if you want easy access near Wailea resorts. Southside is known for reliable weather and a quieter setting. Maluaka gives you space for a slightly larger group. Ironwoods is best for couples wanting cliffs and dramatic ocean views. DT Fleming is guest-friendly with parking and restrooms. Baldwin Beach is a good morning option with bright sand and aqua water.
A few practical notes: all Hawaii beaches are public, #beachweddings need permits, and many Maui photographers book 6 to 12 months out. Staying near your ceremony location can also save a lot of stress, especially for sunrise or sunset photos.

Maui is one of those islands that keeps changing on you, in the best possible way. One minute you’re passing farmland and surf towns, the next you’re climbing toward a 10,023-foot volcano, winding through rainforest, pulling over for waterfalls, or staring out at a coastline shaped by lava, waves, wind, and time.
That’s what makes Maui such an incredible road trip island. The Road to Hāna alone has 620 curves and 59 bridges, with rainforest, bamboo, black sand beaches, ocean cliffs, and roadside banana bread stops tucked along the way. Haleakalā takes you in the opposite direction, up above the clouds to the “House of the Sun,” where the crater looks more like another planet than a tropical island. Then there’s ʻĪao Valley, West Maui, South Maui, old towns, beaches, lookouts, lava fields, and quiet places you might drive right past without knowing what you missed.
@GuideAlong makes all of that easier. The #Maui tour bundle covers the Road to Hāna, Haleakalā, ʻĪao Valley, West Maui, and South Maui routes, with 500-plus audio points that play automatically as you drive. It works offline, plays through your phone or Bluetooth, and lets you explore at your own pace. https://t.co/AGcnO0dC4v
You’re not stuck on a tour bus. You’re not glued to a map. You’re still in control of the day, but now you’ve got stories, directions, local tips, and smart stop suggestions right when you need them. It’s like having a guide in the car who knows when to speak up, when to let the views do the talking, and how to make the whole island feel more alive.
Some Hawaii coffee experts see Robusta and Robusta hybrids as part of the future, while others believe Hawaii’s latitude and drainage give local Arabica a better shot than farms elsewhere. Either way, the coffee world is shifting, and Hawaii may have some big decisions brewing.

If you’re planning a luau party, start with the parts everyone remembers.
Great drinks, fruit on the table, pulled pork, a playlist that feels right, and a setup that makes people want to stay awhile. You really don’t need much more than that.

June on Maui is showing off with free family movies under the stars, World Ocean Day at Maui Ocean Center, Earth, Wind & Fire at the MACC, and the Nā Kamehameha Pā‘ū Parade and Ho‘olaule‘a celebrating Hawaiian culture from Maui Lani to Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center.

Summer on Maui has its own kind of magic, and this year’s calendar is packed with ways to enjoy it.
Think King Kamehameha Day celebrations, the new Wailuku Film Festival, Kapalua Wine & Food Festival, Makawao’s beloved rodeo traditions, Obon dances, hula, fireworks, and long beach days in between.
A few favorites to keep on your list:
• Morning snorkel days in South Maui
• Turtle and windsurfing watching at Hoʻokipa
• A stroll through Makawao’s galleries
• Farm-to-table stops Upcountry
• Local festivals that bring food, music, culture, and community together
The best Maui summer plans leave room for both, the event you came for and the ocean day you didn’t know you needed. Read More: https://t.co/8fYqmLj7dR
Even on a short walk, you’ll spot how quickly the weather shifts here, sun, mist, then a light drizzle, it’s part of what keeps the valley so intensely alive.
ʻĪao has deep cultural weight, it’s tied to some of Maui’s most significant history, so it’s not just pretty scenery, it’s a place of reverence. (make sure to read the placards!)

A few things to do in Makawao:
• Walk through the historic downtown
• Browse Viewpoints Gallery
• Watch glassblowing at Hot Island Glass
• Pick up a treat from Maui Cookie Lady
• Hike Makawao Forest
• Explore nearby farms, ranches, and Upcountry stops
Makawao may be small, but it packs in a lot, paniolo history, local makers, good food, and a slower pace that feels totally different from Maui’s beach towns. https://t.co/Cx67X4PjwN
June on Maui has a little bit of everything, and I wanted to share a few things worth having on your radar.
Lahaina continues to see steps forward, including Habitat for Humanity Maui completing its first home rebuild. Maui Ocean Center has brought back its immersive Mokuʻula film experience, offering a beautiful look at Lahaina’s sacred history. And on June 13, Maui Nui Botanical Gardens will host the ʻAha Niu Coconut Festival, with cultural demos, workshops, food, and family-friendly fun.
There are lots of ways to spend these early summer days too, from beach time and local dining to rodeos, hula, golf, and community events across the island.
June feels like a good month to get outside, support local, and stay connected to the stories and places that make Maui so special.
