Just a quick reminder we’re offering free taster sessions to prisons across the UK. If you think your demographic would benefit from music services, feel free to reach out.
Sessions include lyric writing, mixing & mastering, plus a CD of the finished songs to keep.
At the end of each project, we take the songs prisoners create, mix and master them, and burn them onto a CD they can keep forever. It's the best gift we can give—something real that reflects their hard work.
What an incredible 2 days we have had in HMP Leicester. Our 2 day taster sessions turned out to be powerful and purposeful with 17 Men writing songs about stereotypes, life choices.
Every time we do this it is truly an experience we can’t describe.

As facilitators you often ask yourself, how are we even going to make the smallest dent in the challenges young people face day to day. Then you experience the reward of seeing first hand the growth in both confidence and ability through positive expression. 🎹🎤🎶
Our thematic review of the experiences of adult black male prisoners and black prison staff will be published tomorrow morning. We interviewed 100 black prisoners, 17 key managers and 66 other staff of all ethnicities. Links to the report and press release will be tweeted here.
I don’t want to be a great role model, I want to be great ancestor🖤✊🏿@cordell_jeffers
Thank you @blackexcellencebrum for having me.
My dms are open for any questions, lets work!
If we’re asking young people to write positive lyrics we have to show them. Be the role model they need.
Actions speak so loud they can’t hear what you say 💎
We have been honoured to listen to RA talk on the reality of serving a 10 year sentence on IPP Whilst maintaining the focus and determination to become successful after release.
There is no one more inspirational than someone that has seen both sides of life.

Some like to call what I do a form of cultural appropriation - using the very thing that has captivated the youth/culture(drill music) and flipping it on its head with a relatable, relevant message.#youthvoices#mentalhealth#uk # #culture#birmingham
