UPDATE: Pastori Muhwezi, the proprietor of Bamuhwezi Investments, which owns Bamuhwezi Hotel and Bamuhwezi Coffee Factories, has died following a road accident at Kagongi Trading Centre along the Ibanda–Mbarara Highway.
Muhwezi, his wife and their son were involved in the crash and were rushed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital for medical treatment.
He later succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident. His wife and son are still receiving medical attention.

18 school buses transporting children from educational trips were intercepted last night at the Njeru Checkpoint.

In line with @Educ_SportsUg's directive suspending school trips & prohibiting night travel for schools already on trips, the buses were escorted to a safe parking area where they remained until morning.

They will be escorted by @PoliceUg to their respective destinations. Schools already on trips are reminded not to travel at night. Instead, they should report to the nearest Police station for guidance & where necessary a Police escort.

All return journeys must be undertaken between 6:00 a.m. & 6:00 p.m.

BREAKING: An Amuria High School bus was involved in a road accident this morning along the Tirinyi–Mbale Road in Namalemba after colliding with a truck parked by the roadside.

The bus was reportedly carrying students and was heading to Iganga. The number of casualties has not yet been confirmed.
