@MufasaZero7 The company should have charged him with absenteeism from work for 5 consecutive days without reasonable excuse. The notification letter to attend the disciplinary hearing is sent to the last known address through registered mail. He was supposed to be discharged in absentia.

🟣PRO-TIP: if you’ve just completed your law degree and are job hunting, please don’t get the email list of all lawyers and spam everyone with a blanket application for a job or internship. It tells the recipient that you haven’t applied your mind to which firm you want to work for and why. It’s lazy.
Instead, identify about 5 firms that match your interests. Research the lawyers at the firm and the sort of cases they work on. Address a well-written cover letter to the managing partner - get his or her name.
Set out your motivation for applying to that firm concisely. Proofread your letter. Make sure it is properly formatted. Any grammatical or spelling errors make you easy to disqualify. Include your CV. Use a white envelope with the typed name of the addressee and their firm affixed to the front. Always note that that letter is the first thing they will use to judge you.
If you can, hand-deliver the letter. Wear your best black suit, with a crisp white shirt and professional shoes. Wear socks and a tie if you’re male. Have a conservative hair do, to be safe.
When you get to reception, be polite to the receptionist and ask to see the managing partner for 5 minutes if they are in and available for a courtesy call.
In the off-chance that they agree to see you, give a firm handshake, introduce yourself, tell them that you’re applying for a job with the firm. Concisely communicate your motivation. Indicate that you’re keen to learn and hand them the letter. Don’t stay long but do state that you would be available for an interview at their convenience.
If they are unable to meet you, ask the receptionist to kindly put the personally addressed letter on the partner’s desk.
You may or may not succeed but this is a lot more likely to get you a second look than spamming everyone with a lazy, generic email.
P.S. Don’t wait until your degree is over to start job hunting. From about second year, use vacations to volunteer at law firms that you may be interested in. Write to the Law Society and offer to volunteer at workshops. Choose the firm you do attachment with carefully so that they are keen to hire you when you’re done. Network often.
Good luck. (I’m not hiring. Don’t waste any applications on me.)
