@Stonefoxcapital They’re not. The last two years are void years. For salary cap purposes. Chiefs have the right to end contract after year 1, which is only $12m. And they absolutely will.
@TVGrimReaper No long-term future for DG linear nets
Studio+Streaming could thrive independently, though, if debt could be reduced even further? I'd like to know whether the $7b would go to the S+S or the DG side of the business?
DG bankruptcy will wipe out it's share of the debt
@jasonfurman@billbaer50@SeekingAlpha 2/ consumer benefits from blocking @ATT and @TMobile merging were absolutely massive, IMHO. Of course not every company blocked from a merger will come out stronger. The question should be which approach produces more benefits in the aggregate. Hawkishness seems to work better
@jasonfurman@billbaer50 1/ Admittedly I am one of those annoying antitrust hawks - more on @SeekingAlpha than here - I’m not sure the outcome of the case makes the showing? When not allowed to merge, companies have to compete harder, some succeed, some fail. But the successes pay for the failures. The
If @YouTubeTV drops $20 worth of costs it can cut prices concurrently which may attract more of those vMVPD subscribers who don't need or want @espn which isn't really top content; only 40% of households watch 6+ hours of it even during NFL season. It's 1/2 that in the offseason
In the YTTV vs. Disney/ESPN PayTV hullabaloo, we understand the DIS/ESPN strategy. IMO, it's the YTTV strategy that's unclear. What's the big long term enterprise objective here? As a digital PayTV bundle that has none of the natural monopoly protections that made established bundles so profitable, it's never going to produce any meaningful profits for Google if it doesn't have the top content. And, if the goal is to gain subscribers in advance of making direct investments in non-channel media to include live Tier 1 sports then this carriage dispute is hard to fathom. Thx to @benjstrauss & @PostSports for including me here...
@Stonefoxcapital I don’t disagree but there is one difference: a home is an appreciating asset, a student loan is just debt. Even if the principal has only been reduced $18k, presumably the homeowners equity would have grown considerably more.
Even so, a 50-yr mortgage is a bad idea, in my view
@TVGrimReaper Amazing that the losses were so high in Q3 with football starting up again. $CMCSA has shown no improvement in video trends. $CHTR however may have, Q2 numbers were good we'll see if they can maintain in Q3. If so, Comcast may need to take another look at copying $CHTR's approach
$NFLX dropping like a rock today...the market doesn't seem to think buying $WBD is a good idea, either...but it also seems to think the risk of such a misstep is a lot higher than I do.

Two hours and three minutes….one of the few times I’ve beaten Simon’s time. He and Mark are hands down the best solvers out there.
In this particular puzzle, I think maybe it goes faster if you start with the Kropki streak in the bottom row, then go up to the left hand boxes?
May we introduce to you THE most EVIL sudoku of all time. If you get through this without an error then our hat is off!!

@TVGrimReaper@fuboTV I apologize. Yes, you quoted the Y/Y number, not the Q/Q number. I just misread your post
@fuboTV Y/Y number may be a reflection of @GetSpectrum slowing their cord-cutting #, or perhaps reflects the continued growth of @YouTubeTV
Overall cord-cutting seems to be holding steady
@chrifamouamo1 @TVGrimReaper Was paying $35 introductory, they were going to take it to $105. Before I could call and cancel they preemptively lowered it to $49. I didn't have to do a thing. $TMUS and $VZ are actually a bit cheaper but I'll stick with them to avoid experimenting with FWA.
isn't going to pay them a fee anyway, why bother? Why not just go no-fee free on the Comcast system themselves? I guess maybe because WGN will promote the games, but most fans know where their games are being broadcast- they don't really need a promo to help them find it.
@pnoles#WhiteSoxBlackout
Just to be clear, *every* local broadcast network, which @CHSN already is, has the right to demand carriage on local cable systems. The catch is that they cannot demand payments - like OTA they get the ad revenue but no subscription fee.
So if @WGNTV
We don't have #'s from the @chicagobulls or @NHLBlackhawks yet and obviously the @whitesox are just starting, but I'm going to guess that their TV revenues are down about 50% which would put their total revenues down 10-12%. Is that coming out of payroll or profits?
Need I ask?
I would argue that this says more about the @nbcschicago shutdown as it does @whitesox wisdom. @CHSN hasn't yet secured carriage with @DIRECTV or @comcast and already confirmed it will broadcast OTA - ie., no carriage fees - in 2025
Major cash hit coming to all 3 teams, I think
@RichLightShed Comcast $CMCSA ...... though I question if the nation's largest broadband provider really becomes a "media company" when it buys the third largest movie studio and broadcast network.
@SoxMach_pnoles Well, granted, I'm not suggesting someone do either one, necessarily. But I cannot see Comcast ever agreeing to a traditional carriage deal with @CHSN__ at this point. The attitude is, "when you're ready to sign the deal we offered six months ago, call us."
Hypothetical question....wouldn't another be to simply subscribe to @CHSN__ directly and pay the $20 per month?
@SoxMach_pnoles@comcast isn't my favorite company, but all distributors are dropping RSNs, not just @Xfinity. @dish and Spectrum did the same, @DIRECTV probably soon
#WhiteSox fans, if first pitch arrives Thursday and CHSN isn't on Comcast, it's time to direct your anger toward Comcast. Putting pressure on them (calls, emails, posts) is the only recourse.
