The fan involved in the DK Metcalf incident has issued a statement through his attorney, denying accusations that he used racial slurs or misogynistic language.
Footage obtained by Preme Sports appears to back him up. In the video, Kennedy is only heard saying Metcalf’s full name, seemingly trying to get him to sign a jersey, which he has consistently stated. Fans sitting nearby corroborate the same account. At no point are slurs or insults toward Metcalf’s mother audible in the clip.
This directly conflicts with reports on Nightcap, where Chad Johnson said Metcalf claimed the fan used a racial slur and made a vulgar comment about his mother, which allegedly triggered the reaction.
After being assaulted and facing serious public accusations, Kennedy has retained legal counsel and is reportedly exploring formal legal action.

@bturner23 My vote would be the player introductions against the browns at the home opener in 21. First year back at full capacity, might not have been the loudest but it was up there.
Thank you to everyone at the University of Kansas for making my last 3 years special. After conversations with my family, I have decided to transfer to the University of Arkansas. Could not be more excited for this opportunity and can’t wait to get there. #WPS
I am thankful for The University of Kansas for the opportunity to play baseball for the past 3 years. With that being said I am putting my name into the transfer portal for my last year of eligibility.
