Warwickshire Reform propose Cllr George Finch as Leader with the inspiring point: "We'll give you policies when we're ready"
How can you not be inspired by that? 🤦 #warwickshire
After a long day delivering across Clarendon and reporting local issues I cant wait to sit down and cheer on the Lionesses! Bring football home (again)! 🏴🏴
🏥 A full day session with health colleagues from across the county, as well as officers from across the council on all the efforts that are underway to embed preventative, community care, enabled by digital transformation.
Cllr Finch, your party received a minority of votes so don't act like you have a mandate to bully a highly respected civil servant.
Instead, bring it to Council and see whether you can pass a different one. I'll gladly debate against it! 🇬🇧🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
The drama of Warwickshire Reform goes on...
This morning I was at the Social Care Scrutiny Committee where 2 out of 4 Reform positions are still not filled, now we have a gap in leadership...

🏛️ So, overall we have the government pushing local authorities to hike council tax, whilst they fail to alleviate the largest financial risk all councils face. Another letdown from Labour...
Last week's spending review answered a few questions for local government, but left many more up for debate. Here's what we know so far.

🚸 SEND - There was no mention of the statutory override which allows the council to hold deficits in order to deliver SEND services. This will end next Spring and could lead local authorities to become insolvent. There'll be a white paper in the autumn before we get any answers.
A busy day spent at Shire Hall discussing priorities with Lib Dem colleagues. But had to stop by Pump Room Gardens for my race number on the way home!
Tomorrow I'm running for Helping Hands Community Project so please donate if you can!

I'm running the Leamington Half Marathon for Helping Hands. They support those living through homelessness and trauma in our town by providing food, counselling, support groups and mentoring to help people create a brighter future for themselves.

The public engagement on the future of the parade is now open!
Head to the council website, view the plans and give your thoughts between now and July 28th!

🚧 Unfortunately, they seem to have forgotten to appoint a portfolio holder for highways, so it seems that our crumbling infrastructure is not a priority for this administration.

So we're almost a month on from the election and we finally have a cabinet... Or at least most of one!
🏛️ The Reform Leader of the Council is back from his holiday and has appointed the portfolio holders who have huge powers over how the council spends it's money.
