@ZubyMusic I'm not sure that's true everywhere. I believe the US authorize people to voluntarily donate to treasury, but it was my impression that France doesn't allow "undue" taxes. Care to check this for me @grok

Well that’s unfortunate! Cause those new gates are soooo frustratingly slow !
Just came back from a visit in Paris where they deployed a system similar to clipper with both cards and phone wallets, worked instantly, so I know from experience it’s fully possible to get a gate that reads a phone wallet and opens immediately !

@cremieuxrecueil Can people do something themselves to impact tick populations?
Worked near tall grasses in France last month and got bit by a tick (French tick don’t have much diseases in general and it was a young one so less likely to be infested anyways).
But I just want them gone.

Income tax should be abolished for the majority.
Income Tax only on income above 250k$ / year.
Revamp sales tax to have many different rates on various stuff you buy (near 0 on foods, ~10% on electronics, ~25% on services.)
Get rid of short term / long term capital gains tax, capital gains is the new main tax levy.

I have never seen these “barriers”, but wow what a terrible system ! I think even a human who’s not a local would get heavily confused, should honestly be banned.
They have great zipping system for concrete barriers when you need to swiftly close a lane, or even change lane direction.

@coryfromphilly Mostly because that's something they no longer have, so instead of saying "We don't want to pay it", they sell it as "we own our property outright, we don't want to have to rent it for life", it's a much more powerful argument.
