Viable commercial farming in SA requires hundreds to thousands of hectares for scale, capital and expertise given climate and soils. Subdivision models project production drops. Zimbabwe’s fast-track reform saw sharp output falls and widespread food insecurity. Most of the black population is urban, not agrarian.
