Jehovah's Witnesses aren't Christians. They are a cult. Here's why:
• Their doctrine is established by their "governing body" and not the Bible. They are forbidden from reading "anti-Watchtower" literature.
• They have their own "Bible" translation (New World Translation), which modifies Scripture to fit their theology
• They preach a false gospel of works. The Watchtower Online Library states, "Yes, believing in Jesus is crucial to our salvation, but more is needed."
• They believe that those who die in spiritual ignorance will get a second chance of being saved during the millennial reign of Christ.
• They deny the Trinity and the deity of Christ. They say that the Holy Spirit is just an active force of God and not a person.
• They claim that God the Father has a spirit body but isn't omnipresent.
• They claim that Jesus didn't die on a cross but on a stake.
• They reject Hell entirely and say that unbelievers get annihilated.
• They claim that all other Christian denominations are apostate and that those who leave the JWs should be shunned.
• They claim that only a special group of 144,000 Jehovah Witnesses go to Heaven, while the rest will live on Earth.
• They participate in communion, but only the 144,000 can partake. Since there's no way to actually know who's really a part of the 144,000, most refuse.
Some more interesting facts:
• They reject blood transfusions
• Won't go to war
• Won't celebrate Christmas, Easter or birthdays.
@glorenzW@NicoViergever Why isn’t there one saying ‘thou shalt not own slaves? Four of the commandments deal with the ego of the deity. None of them deal with owning humans being bad.
