“DAY6’s Wonpil makes a surprise confession with ‘I Like You’… My Day respond in unison, “We like you more”

…In his reinterpretation of the song, Wonpil conveys the sincerity of the narrator, who wants to be a steadfast source of support for the person he likes, through his signature clear and warm voice.

Wonpil went beyond singing, delivering an impressive acting performance in the video, which was filmed in a drama-style format. He previously made his acting debut in the musical “Midnight Sun” followed by an appearance in the 2022 web drama “Best Mistake 3”. He also starred as the lead character in the music video for “Highs and Lows”, the title track of his second solo album, Unpiltered, released in March.

With this (cover), Wonpil himself turned an opportunity into reality in just two months. Previously, on Aug 21, Wonpil had recommended george’s ‘좋아해 I like you..’ to fans on Bubble, saying, “There was a song I wanted us to listen to together.” At the time, Wonpil had shared, “I’ve been liking this song lately. If I get the chance, I’d like to sing it properly for you.”

In response to Wonpil’s surprise confession, My Day replied in the comments with messages such as, “She is smiling so widely now,” “I like you too, Wonpil-ah..,” “Wonpil appears when you need him,” “I really like you too,” “An angel has brought us another gift,” and “I like you more, Pil-ah.”
