Raila Odinga was a true champion of democracy. A child of independence, he endured decades of struggle and sacrifice for the broader cause of freedom and self-governance in Kenya. Time and again, I personally saw him put the interests of his country ahead of his own ambitions. Like few other leaders anywhere, he was willing to choose the path of peaceful reconciliation without compromising his core values. Through his life, Raila Odinga set an example not just for Kenyans, but across Africa and around the world. I know he will be missed. Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and to the people of Kenya.
@Goddie_Ke These ODM retards are clearly on a mission. The same creeps who were crying open servers, sijui camargo, oh Chebukati…….The doormats have become more loyal than UDA’s rabid attack hounds. @oloojl

PS: Not Financial Advice
We just spent hours in a Nairobi traffic jam, simply because impatient and selfish drivers were overlapping and choking the lanes. There's an unpopular theory on this. The day you come to an African country, and find the motorists have discipline and can self-organise not to jam up the already narrow streets, that country will be ready for economic take-off. Because that structured and clever system-flow mindset necessary for creating wealth will have taken root. The craziness that comes from this overlapping and clambering over pavements, tells you the country isn't ready yet. It's not ripe. It will remain economically backward

@AECF had the pleasure of meeting the Asst. L Secretary of State for Population, Refugees & Migration, Julieta Valls Noyes @PRMAsstSec and Meg Whitman, @USAmbKenya. Great sharing our role in fragile contexts deploying a market based approach to solve opportunities for refugees.
Today, we had the pleasure of meeting Julieta Valls Noyes @PRMAsstSec, the Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration – U.S. State Department, and Meg Whitman @USAmbKenya, U.S. Ambassador to Kenya to hear from them the aspirations they have for refugees and their host communities, and share our experience as AECF deploying private sector development approaches in many fragile contexts, including in Kakuma, Northern Kenya, which hosts more than 200,000 refugees. Through the @kkcfkenya, we continue to prove that the private sector, when rightly incentivized, will bring innovative solutions to difficult spaces and help solve for jobs and diversified livelihoods for refugees and the host communities.
Protracted displacement situations, like the one we have in Northern Kenya, require a different way of thinking – beyond traditional humanitarian response. Seeing how to better mobilize private sector resources and bring in innovative market-based approaches to complement or in place of traditional aid is what we continue to champion.
Great conversations!
A vibrant discussion with @USAmbKenya and our partner @TentOrg with @AECFAfrica, and @SRCTechKe on developing innovative ways to leverage private sector investments and job opportunities for vulnerable and marginalized groups in Kenya.
The @Realipm is revolutionizing agriculture by providing biocontrol products, reducing farmers' reliance on synthetic agrochemicals. @AECFAfrica's Tanzania Agribusiness Window played a catalytic role in enabling them scale production, reaching more farmers https://t.co/NbewOwDSdN
