For 17 hours this activist stood barefoot on Big Ben to protest against the genocide in Gaza 🇵🇸.

⚡Big Ben Protest🏰

Daniel Day, 29, a British man, scaled Elizabeth Tower barefoot and held on for 17 hours, raising the Palestinian flag while calling out "Free Palestine."

He also called out, “Free Filton 18”—so, who are the Filton 18? Here is their story:👇

In August 2024, six activists took bold action against Elbit’s weapons manufacturing hub in Filton, Bristol.

Elbit Systems is one of 'Israel’s' largest military technology manufacturers.

These 6 drove a modified prison van into the facility and dismantled Israeli drones, which had been used to target and kill Palestinians. This caused over £1 million in damage to the firm.

After the activists were arrested, they faced severe treatment, being detained without charge for up to a week and interrogated under the Terrorism Act. Despite the misuse of these laws, the activists were eventually charged with non-terrorism offenses.

In November 2024, 8 more activists were arrested in connection with the same action, bringing the total to 18. These activists have been imprisoned, with their trial scheduled across three dates: November 2025, May 2026, and an unknown date for the final hearing.

ZOË ROGERS, one of the Filton 18, said: “I am honoured to be imprisoned in solidarity with thousands of Palestinian political prisoners. Down with the apartheid state!”.

As Daniel Day showed his support for Palestine at Big Ben, he also stood in solidarity with the Filton 18’s courage. Their actions and commitment to justice continue to inspire others to fight for freedom.
