After hearing Vice President JD Vance last night on @JesseBWatters
It becomes clear:
1. Vance wants to do an Obama 2.0 deal with Iran and push compliance verification for the long haul.
2. He uses empty words such as "This is a home run for the American people" and "verify" (new magic word)
3. It is now clear who indeed tipped Erdogan and kept the Islamic regime in power. Throw the Iranian people under the bus
Iran is basically ordering the Presidentof the United States around right now. It's pretty terrifying
Israel is trying to give Trump some leverage back in negotiations but he seems unwilling to let Israel achieve this for him
Leaks from the latest Israeli cabinet session as published in Ynet:
Ben Gvir: "We need to make clear to Trump that we have red lines, and if we're attacked from Lebanon or from Iran that's a red line and we have to respond."
Netanyahu (mocking, hinting at Ben Gvir's motives): "Well, elections in three more months."
Ben Gvir: "To my credit, I say this all the time, with elections or without elections."
Aryeh Deri: "Enough with the ideas of attacking in Iran and Beirut, let's be realistic. We need to be responsible."
Netanyahu: "We're on the same page with Trump. He's not releasing Iran's frozen funds and is determined to remove and obtain the nuclear material. Why scrap with him?"
Smotrich: "A strike in Iran has costs and is complex and complicated. You remember that I opposed operations in Iran more than once and that I act responsibly." He argued for striking "hard in the Dahiyeh, which will make Hezbollah beg for it to stop, and thereby create the separation of arenas."
The leak shows very clearly how domestic politics are leading the security positions of the Israeli government. The elections are the only thing on their minds.
What made Iran bold enough to strike Israel directly?
The answer is Trump. Tehran may not field a first-class air force or navy, but they possess the absolute best detection equipment in the world for one specific signal: a lack of willingness to fight. For years, Hamas and Hezbollah detected this exact hesitation in Israel and exploited it to gain ground. Today, Iran is doing the exact same thing to the United States. It comes down to the old idiom: give them an inch, and they’ll start firing at a mile of your sovereign territory.
Two months of projected American weakness and a blind obsession with securing a deal have brought us straight to this moment. The collapse started when Washington chose to look the other way during Iranian missile and drone launches in the Gulf. It accelerated every time the U.S. conceded ground just to keep Tehran from abandoning the talks, culminating in the immense pressure to hold Israel back from striking Beirut and the forcing of a hasty, fragile “ceasefire” in southern Lebanon. Tehran smells the desperation and knows exactly what the U.S. is terrified of losing. As an advisor to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei phrased it: “In the bombing in Beirut, the enemy set the negotiating table on fire for the third time.”
So far, it seems Iran guessed correctly. Overnight, Trump went on Fox News with a message for Tehran: “You’ve shot your missiles, that’s enough, get back to the table and make a deal.” In so many words, Trump is simply repackaging Joe Biden’s infamous April 2024 warning to Iran: “Don’t.” Judging by the multiple, separate ballistic barrages launched from Iranian territory this morning, it promises to be just as effective.

Just like Obama, Trump is now actively defending the regime in Iran in pursuit of a fantasy. It is unacceptable. His presidency will never recover, especially after the midterms.
#BREAKING “The Iranian strikes didn’t hurt anybody. Hopefully Israel is not going to retaliate. If Bibi strikes them back it’s just gonna keep going like the last 47 years, or the last 3000 years,” Trump told Axios.
"I’m going to call Bibi right now and tell him not to retaliate. Each of them had their fun. Israel had its strike and Iran had its strike. We don't need another one.”
"We are very close to a final deal with Iran. It is going to be a good deal. I don’t want it to blow up because of what is happening now,” he was quoted as saying.
By preventing Israel from striking Hezbollah while it fires missiles at Israeli civilians, President Trump was not protecting the "talks" - he was protecting Hezbollah.
Trump sold out America, Iran, and now Israel and Lebanon as well - and calls it victory.
It’s surrender.
It’s cowardice.
It’s pig headedness.
Absolute disaster!
Substance aside, it is amazing what Trump gets away with in terms of messaging from his own side and from the media.
Can you imagine the reaction, especially from the right, if Barack Obama or Joe Biden had ever typed the words "I had a very good call with Hezbollah"?
