@galois Except you should be using applied math to combat state secrets and destructure large capital systems.
Work to end capitalism and nationalism, not continue it.
@lcamtuf I don't know why can't you learn this?
Learn category theory and program in that.
That's your real language.
Jesus, don't tell me you didn't think about that until now.
@ChShersh Ask them to learn category theory
Will piss everyone right off
mathematicians have contempt for it
Coders fear it
Businessmen. Pah
Everyone hates categories
Amazing screening tool
When you meet a categorist, you've met a real one
@ChShersh Anyone who knows monoidal cats can build an AST category using generators. We ate not that alone and there are more important things you can be tweeting about.
We need to fight the Nazis with category theory.
@ChShersh I said it once and I'll say it again, learn more category if you want to make fetch happen in this case. Give me some fucking structure theorems, you jackass. Or I will just say you're a hype smoking charlatan. And I'll be right.
@cemerick What worked for me was a) become verbally abusive towards capitalists, b) stop engaging any capitalist in good faith, and c) stop comparing myself to people who are not Anti-Capitalistic Queer Communist Saboteurs
Long live Queercomm
Long live the revolution
End capitalism
@ChShersh It IS a bad INI. That's OK. But your Category Theory needs a bibliography, string diagrams, natural transforms (eg for migrations), ologs & structure theorems. Give us something real to chew on mathematically. Then categorical business process experts are going to perk up.
@kerckhove_ts I can get AI to gauge uncertainty, prove logical impossibility, or admit the limits of what it can deduce.
That's a prompt design skill, aka a strawberry skill, or AI literacy skill
Read prompting papers and get curious and creative about improving your AI communication skills
@ecocentrism1@EmiDoesMath @AJMooreHealth The solution is to change the mathematical oldguard for a newguard that does not require in-person conferences. Yeah that may take a decade or more. But the wall already contains that writing.
@ykilcher This reactionary bs response tells us we should have less faith in yan le cun.
Fact: Galactica is more dangerous than gpt3: It lends an air of competence to psychopathic ideas
Fact: Toxity metrics didn't capture this
Fact: a redteaming effort can do better here
@unironictechbro@ykilcher No they didn't publish the model. They published the paper, not the same thing as the code.
You can't run your own galactica at home (like you can with Stable Diffusion, for example)
@solidangles A lot of talented young higher mathematicians show this unreasoning & toxic disdain for applied math and real-world domains. So RWAs may fall flat in pedagogy and may also fail to recruit in higher math. This is tricky, in a time when global problems badly need higher maths
@EmiDoesMath Is it the Nlab migration that has been stalled for 6 months now? Or is it Nlab's unique combination of verbose writing and skimpy references? I feel it needs a new generation of maintainers!
