No one can guard a good dribbler, you have to walk kids through how to help and then how to help the helper"

Things EVERY player can focus on regardless of form when shooting:
🏀 Catching ready to shoot
🏀 Staying on balance
🏀 Having consistent form
🏀 Using legs for power
🏀 Developing quicker release
🏀 Holding follow through
🏀 Shooting with confidence
🏀 Putting up countless reps
Remember, your body language doesn’t just affect your mindset and performance, but also your teammates’ mindset and performance. Stand up straight and confidently not just to help your own mindset, but also to encourage your teammates to do the same.
Basketball players at this time of year really need to be honest with themselves. Ask yourself: When I went to practice today, did I practice to get through it or practice to get better? The answer separates the winners and losers.
Coach can only use a certain amount of practice time for his players to get shots up. A big part of practice needs to be running through game situations while you have all players together.
If you want to be a shooter, that means you need to get in the gym on your own!
Parents: You can buy your kids a phone; pay for college, a car. You can buy sporting equipment & uniforms, but you can’t buy their success. If they want it, they have to earn it. Success isn’t easy. It’s gritty & hard. The “price” comes with a lot of extra work, trials & failure.
Players: Which player are you?
Bad players don’t take too much seriously
Average players take games seriously
Good players take practice & games seriously
Great players take academics, nutrition, warm-ups, ind. work, weight room, conditioning, film, practice & games seriously

Aside from being a four sport athlete, @GoMaxCats senior Tate Gurciullo is also involved with the band and choir. I asked him if he auditioned for The Voice, what song he would perform. He said Lewis Capaldi's "Bruises" (but wouldn't sing any of it on camera. I wonder why)
