Airport Executive, passionate about aviation and technology to disrupt the industry. Oilers, good Red Wine and excellent Rum, views and comments are my own
@cbcwatcher Two pilots were killed in a horrible, tragic accident. That’s it, that’s the only thing that matters.
The rest is a disgusting sideshow by people who should know better.
“Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is right to push Prime Minister Mark Carney and the federal government to speed up approval of a bitumen pipeline from Alberta to the West Coast. Get it built now while the Trump-initiated chaos is creating uncertainty in world oil markets and Canada can play up its stability, democracy and reliability to attract new buyers for our oil.”

🚫Taxpayers are tapped out
Teachers union should have accepted $2.6 billion offer
Demanding $2 billion more was absurd
Happy to hear Edmonton teacher with the challenging class size we interviewed get recognized in QP today
Blanket class size caps are inefficient & expensive

🚨NEWS RELEASE
Albertans will be shocked to hear teachers refused a contract that would've made teachers the highest paid in Western Canada & now they want $2 billion more

Canada’s new “Canadian Identity” minister @s_guilbeault just deceived Canadians saying we don’t need more pipelines because the TMX pipeline is only 40% full and peak oil will be in 2 years.
The facts are that TMX, which just opened and would have been built entirely with private dollars if Ottawa hadn’t made it impossible for the original proponent to build it, is already close to capacity.
Further most estimates of demand for bitumen shows it growing for several more decades and that it will be needed to replace declining U.S. conventional oil fields.
This is just another example of how misleading and destructive this former environment minister was to Alberta’s and Canada’s economy and investment climate.
We ask for the new environment minister @juliedabrusin to disavow his comments and commit to working with Alberta to build new pipelines to access new markets.
@sunlorrie It’s the responsible thing to do.
The details of the fed pharmacare program haven’t yet been disclosed so the extent to which it complements or replaces existing programs is unknown.
It’s like the feds said “here’s a free puppy”. But you know it’s going to cost you.
A snowfall warning is in effect for the Edmonton region. Please give yourself some extra time getting to the airport and be sure to check your flight status before leaving home. https://t.co/x1I5OBmDXV
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but relying on facts is important. Read my letter to the editor in the Calgary Herald on how Canada’s aviation infrastructure can have a successful low cost model with policy changes that support it. https://t.co/nXtj9MTg9v
In response to the Federal government’s failure to apply equality under the law for the carbon tax to other areas of Canada, our UCP caucus has brought forward a motion in the Legislature to end the carbon tax and acknowledge its harm to Albertans.
Albertans will remember that it was Rachel Notley’s NDP government that first imposed a carbon tax on Albertans. The NDP carbon tax drove up the cost of everything and made life unaffordable for Albertans. That’s why our UCP government repealed Rachel Notley’s carbon tax as our first act of government after being elected in 2019.
I hope the NDP joins with us in supporting this motion:
Be it resolved that the Legislative Assembly urge the Government of Canada to
(a) acknowledge the negative impact of the federal consumer carbon tax on the cost of living,
(b) recognize that the recent exemption from the consumer carbon tax provided for home heating oil will create inequities amongst Canadians, particularly with respect to those in Alberta who use lower carbon-emitting heating sources for their homes, such as natural gas, and
(c) take all necessary steps required to end the federal consumer carbon tax
The federal government has decided that one part of Canada with one type of home heating is worthy of a carbon tax break, while those living elsewhere using another type of home heating do not.
Further, after telling Canadians for years that rebates covered the costs of the carbon tax for every day consumers, the Feds now admit with this one-region-one-fuel-type-only tax break, this claim is not true.
Alberta joins the vast majority of our fellow Canadians in calling for an end to the failed carbon tax and the burden it places on each of us and our families.
The Departures Roadway is now closed for regenerative construction, impacting vehicle access to and from the terminal. If you are being dropped off or picked up by friends or family, you will be using the relocated Passenger Pick-up and Drop-off Area. The ground-level Arrivals Roadway is open only for commercial vehicles, like parking shuttles and taxis, as well as curbside access for those with disabilities. Learn more at https://t.co/h2Szgv0wc4.
