New: Sen. John Fetterman is growing increasingly concerned that Trump may make a deal with Iran
JF to @jewishinsider: "Nuclear dust, that’s the reason why we’re here. This is why I was reasoned and OK with setting myself politically on fire to be the only Democrat for the last 90 days voting against these war powers acts. Presidents always talk about their legacy. At this point, if you cave just for political convenience, what kind of legacy is that?"

Imagine if conservatives, rather than pathetically crawling around on the ground to lap up discarded pop culture crumbs, actually went out and advanced their own creative and artistic vision. Imagine if we used an event like this to actually elevate our own artists and make them famous. What a crazy thought.
“We've stopped making babies. We've decided that being distracted by a dopamine hit around Candy Crush might be a good way to spend your time. Not if you're a full human," former Sen. Ben Sasse says in an extended interview. https://t.co/3lNk3yYBza
He probably should have said this to Abrams instead, who wrote a script where Luke’s been missing for like two decades and ends with finding him stuck on an island in exile
“I said to Rian Johnson, ‘Jedi don’t give up.’ I mean, even if he had a problem, he would maybe take a year to try and regroup. But if he made a mistake, he would try and right that wrong. So right there, we had a fundamental difference.”
-Mark Hamill
I have had multiple Republican staffers over the last year flat out vent their frustration that the person they work for complains about Trump in private and then is a lapdog in public.
There are multiple Senators would vote convict & remove in a blind vote but are too cowardly to do it otherwise.
And frankly I think that’s disqualifying.
If you’re too scared to do your job, you should resign.
Was quite literally an alliance of liberals and communists that stopped fascism and every communist and liberal these days is devoted to making sure such an alliance never happens again
His examples of this are The Witch Trials of JK Rowling (billionaire complains about being “cancelled”) and The Twitter Files (boring internal debates about content moderation) lmao
It's really fascinating that Bari Weiss has so few awards in a field known for giving awards to everyone even while her org has broken multiple culture-changing stories
@mattyglesias in this thread Jain lays out a sort of frustration with the modern fecklessness and consultancy based nature of Democratic policymaking, idk how you read it as "went too far left" unless that is your own complaint and you are just trying to say it's at the root of all problems
time for my favorite year-end prompt to ask:
*what were your Revelatory Rewatches of the year?* brief explanations encouraged!!
& what about the opposite? were there rewatches that were a disappointment or didn't hit the same?
