Ditebogo Junior Phalane, 5, was shot dead in Soshanguve by hijackers who were targeting his father's bakkie on 10 May 2024. It is alleged that Ditebogo had gone outside his home to welcome his father home from work. A group of hijackers attacked them and shot the little boy in the process of taking his father's Toyota Hilux.

Ditebogo was rushed to the hospital but was certified dead on arrival. No one has been arrested. We are heartbroken over the loss of such a beautiful soul. Fly high, little King. #womenforchange #sayhisname
