I'm thrilled to be returning to the Interlochen campus this fall to lead a three-day workshop in creative nonfiction. Fall is such an inspiring time for me, and I'm looking forward to sharing the magic of the Interlochen campus with others. The details are below:
📝
Everyone has a story to tell. Creative nonfiction is the perfect medium to share your personal narratives in engaging, artful, and informative ways. Regardless of your skill level, this workshop is designed to help you craft compelling short memoirs, personal essays, and flash nonfiction pieces. You’ll delve into the history of creative nonfiction and study examples from modern and classical masters. Guided by these works, you’ll create your own stories from stimulating prompts and have the opportunity to share your writing in a nurturing, supportive environment.
Through masterclass lectures, expert instructor feedback, and facilitated discussions, you’ll not only deepen your understanding of creative nonfiction but also enhance your ability to tell your own true stories. This workshop will equip you with the structure and inspiration you need to transform your ideas into engaging, creative pieces.
By the end of this workshop, you’ll have written three new works of creative nonfiction and acquired the tools to continue sharing your true stories with others. You'll leave with a practical set of skills and a newfound confidence in your writing abilities, ready to take on the world of creative nonfiction.
Workshop Dates: Friday, October 11 - Sunday, October 13, 2024
