A new era for Bulawayo roads

Bulawayo’s road rehabilitation efforts have received a major boost following the commissioning of road equipment worth close to US$1 million, procured using funds disbursed by ZINARA.

The milestone further cements the strong working relationship between ZINARA and the Bulawayo City Council, as the city moves to enhance its road maintenance capacity.

The newly acquired equipment which include a grader, backhoe loader, and a soil compactor is expected to significantly improve efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and strengthen service delivery across Bulawayo.

Bulawayo Mayor, Senator David Coltart, commended ZINARA for supporting the procurement of high-end equipment that is set to transform the city’s road infrastructure landscape.

He also urged City authorities to put in place a comprehensive maintenance strategy to ensure the equipment remains in optimal condition.

The acquisition is in line with ZINARA’s Capacitation strategic pillar, which seeks to empower Road Authorities to own critical machinery, reduce reliance on hiring equipment, and promote sustainable and cost-effective road maintenance programmes.
