Fantastic time at the Rock County Dairy Breakfast this morning! No better way to celebrate Dairy Month. Took me right back to my childhood helping out my grandpa and uncle who were both small dairy farmers.
Thank you to everyone who came out to our meet and greet at the Hedberg Public Library in Janesville yesterday — and all who shared your questions, your stories, and your ideas on what it will take to get rid of B.S. and restore some sanity to Washington.
As someone who worked at the VA, I saw firsthand the wounds our young men and women brought back from Iraq and Afghanistan. The War Powers Act of 1973 was sponsored by Clement Zablocki, a Congressman from Milwaukee and the namesake of the Zablocki VA in Milwaukee, where I began my career as a VA nurse. Congress has a responsibility to hold the White House accountable for yet another costly, directionless war overseas. Today, the House finally stepped up to do something about it – but Bryan Steil continues to ignore his Constitutional responsibility.

Wishing everyone a happy Pride Month! Pride extends beyond a single month, but June is an especially important time to recognize the achievements and hard-fought progress for equality in our state and nation, and all the work still ahead.
Remembering the history of activism and collective action from the LGBTQ+ communities and allies, and all their work along the way, will help us strive for a more inclusive and equal tomorrow – and to remember why it's more important than ever to show up, speak out, and stand together for equality.
Well folks, we are officially on the ballot to represent Wisconsin's First Congressional District. Thank you to everyone who signed our nomination papers – to all the volunteers who collected signatures – and to everyone who have gotten involved with our campaign!
"Look, I'm not a politician. I didn't start with a big rolodex of millionaires that I could just call up and have my campaign coffers full."
Dem congressional candidate Mitchell Berman on why he says he's the Dem to take on Rep Bryan Steil in 1st CD:
It was an honor to be able to celebrate Memorial Day with folks in Beloit, Janesville, and Rochester — thinking of those no longer with us, remembering their sacrifice, and appreciating what we have today in our families and communities.
Today is a day of remembrance, gratitude, and respect for those who answered the call when difficult decisions had to be made. They served selflessly, and many gave the ultimate sacrifice for all of us. We honor them today and every day.
As someone who worked at the VA and cared for veterans over the last decade, I've had the honor of being with many of them in their final moments. What has always stayed with me is that their sacrifice often continued long after their time in service had ended.
@RepBryanSteil has completely abdicated his Constitutional responsibility to serve as a check on the executive and represent our district. I am calling on Steil to oppose this fund.
More blatant corruption. While the working class is once again being told to tighten our belts, Donald Trump just stole damn near $2 billion of our tax dollars for his political allies, with zero transparency and not a single vote in Congress.
Trump isn't concerned with higher prices and neither is @RepBryanSteil . Ask anyone in our district, and not one of them would call the increase in gas prices 'peanuts'. Maybe to billionaires and the political class. Not peanuts to working class families.

Once again we are told that we'll just need to endure a little more "short term pain" for this illegal and directionless war. But for some reason that pain is always reserved for the working class. The billionaires – and the political class – are doing just fine.
BREAKING: Trump says again that American's financial situations are less important than the Iran war: "That's right, that's a perfect statement, I'd make it again."
Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms out there!
I want to especially acknowledge my wife, our superhero, the heart of our family, and the most amazing role model for our daughters.
We love you more than words can say. Thank you for everything you do, every single day.
It was great to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Delavan! This day pays homage to when an outmatched force prevailed. Underdog moments remind us that momentum isn’t owned by incumbency or power, rather it’s built by people who show up, speak out, and believe change is possible.
It was great to close out May Day in Janesville with a crowd of likedminded pro-labor folks yesterday. Thank you to everyone who came out in solidarity – and to the band for keeping up everyone’s energy on a chilly afternoon!
Started off International Workers' Day this morning at the Racine Labor Center with hundreds of students rallying for #MayDay. It’s encouraging to see so many young people stepping up, organizing, and speaking out in the face of so many challenges impacting their communities.
It’s easy for people to forget where our food comes from. Supporting farmers means paying attention to the challenges they’re facing – they’re carrying more than most of us realize.
Seeing how farmers are dealing with all this wet weather is a reminder of just how tough their job really is. Long hours, unpredictable conditions, and a lot riding on things completely out of their control.
