"Filing causes before the East African Court of Justice is not different from the manner in which we do so here except that you must file a copy of your practicing certificate. And you do not need to fly to Arusha anymore. Sub-registries have been created. In Uganda at the Supreme Court. If you want to sue any entity before the East African Court of Justice, run to the Supreme Court. There is a registry designed for that purpose."

"Under the civil law system of the DRC, there is strict application of provisions. There must be something you read and apply with equal force in such a way that you leave no room for interpretation. When you are advising a client in DRC, you do not leave gaps. That is the fundamental difference from our common law system."
