The Lionesses emerged champions of the first Western 7s circuit held at Masaka Rugby Grounds. 🏆 The final was won on penalty drop-kicks against Kabale Berg Princesses 2-1.

The curtain comes down on the #Western7s 2026. We bow out after finishing 3rd on the table standings (64 pts) ahead of Bundibugyo Wasps (64 pts), on points difference, and Kiruhura Cows (39 pts).

Our player, Hildah Kyorisiima, won the MVP medal 🏅 at Kabale 7s.

Leg 3/4: #DRGUMA7s

@kigeziqueens dominated the women’s side, remaining unbeaten throughout the day. They opened with a commanding 27-0 win over Bundibugyo Wasps, followed by victories over Fort Portal Pumas (10-0) and Mbarara Lionesses (12-0).

@CrowsRfc continued their strong form in the series, marching through the rounds with impressive scorelines, including 29-0 over Foreign Buffalo, 19-0 over Fort Portal Tyrants, 12-5 over Kigezi Silverbacks, and 31-0 over Fort Portal Wolves.

We are particularly glad to see @MUSTangs_Rugby participating in this leg. They performed impressively throughout the day and reached the final, where they faced the in-form KIU Crows - winners of three legs in the series so far.

The opening leg of the 2026 Western Regional Rugby 7s Series, the #HoimaCity7s, part of the #UgandaRugby 7s Pathway Series, kicks off this Saturday.

Home side Abarusura RFC will host as the region welcomes emerging clubs, including new outfit Foreign Buffaloes - happy for the growth + spread of rugby across the Albertine region.

The venue setup already points to a well-organized event for a regional tournament 👏

🇺🇬 | Proscovia Mukyala #UgandaRugby

The young lady with her relentless tackling & powerful ball carries.

At just 19 years old, Proscovia is a Form 6 student at Kijjabwemi S.S. Formerly at Mbarara Lionesses, and now with Buddu Cuppaz, while currently on loan at Thunderbirds.

She featured in the U20 curtain-raiser match at Wankulukuku during the #RAWomensPoolB in 2022. Last year, she was with the @U20_RugbyCranes for the RA U20 Women’s Series in SA.

A promising future lies ahead for this girl. Keep your eyes on her. #WRAC2025
