I’m not an Arraez guy. There’s a reason he’s been traded 3 times and could only get a 1 year deal in FA. No power, defense is iffy. Not happy they gave up Ramon Marquez for a rental.

Told the #Phillies had an offer for Tarik Skubal along the lines of Gage Wood, Justin Crawford & Jonathon Bowlan.

They thought they had a shot until LA decided to commit not long ago, didn’t include Sheehan. Paying a ton for a P that would’ve likely chosen them this winter

The one thing in the Harper vs. Mattingly barbs that I haven't seen mentioned is that if Don wants to have his Interim tag removed, of course he's going to side with Dombrowski, who will make that decision. His son being the GM is a big piece but not everything.

Phillies should trade for local lefty Brandon Little assuming his value is as low as his stats would suggest. Terrible start to 2026 after a tough 2025 postseason. Has been much better in July since his most recent call-up. Had nasty stuff in '24 & '25 from the left side.

LeBron to the Sixers is an amazing stroke of luck for a franchise stuck in a never-ending cycle of self-destruction. Credit to Mike Gansey for making the Jaylen Brown trade that grabbed the attention of LeBron enough to get him to come here. Huge day for the franchise.

The new Home Run Derby format is almost perfect. Only thing I’d change is that the semifinals should not be head to head. Should be top 2 out of all 4 hitters. Would be silly if the two highest HR counts were matched up and only one advanced.

More All-Star Game thoughts:
People were confused about Rolen catching Schmidt and not another core member of the 2008 team. My guess is that they went with the lefty combo of Carlton/Hamels and the HOF 3B combo of Schmidt/Rolen. Still a surprising choice given the history.

Dylan Cease is the first Blue Jays pitcher to start the ASG since Roy Halladay (2009). Cristopher Sánchez is the first Phillies pitcher to start the ASG since ... Roy Halladay (2011).

2nd year in a row the Phillies Sunday starter is prevented from being named an All-Star. A ridiculous rule that MLB needs to eliminate immediately. Zack Wheeler is an All-Star in 2026.
