Hot take. I don’t consider this fear mongering. I consider this reality. Women are so rarely honest about what motherhood and raising children is like so we sell ourselves this fantasy and then end up depressed cause it’s not what we expected. Good. I’m glad we’re being honest
so much of adulthood is just grieving in secret. grieving ex lovers, grieving dead friendships, grieving your parents sinking into old age, grieving the person you thought you'd grow into. grieving cities you never got to live in. grieving parts of you that couldn't survive.
as an “actual” private person, i can over confirm that people becomes very odd when they can’t figure you out or what’s truly going on in your life and beyond the surface. most importantly, normalize lying to people who ask too much about your private life. people be weird asf.
