Last November we took an important step in making our transport network more affordable for young people by introducing the Apprentice Travelcard on our buses. From September we will be extending this across the @Merseyrail network.
When I was an apprentice, half my wages went to my mum and most of the other half on travel from building site to site.
It's vital we remove barriers that prevent people from pursuing opportunities, so that's why we're halving the cost of travel for apprentices on @merseyrail
"Colleges are not just resilient, they have agency. Together, as a sector, we understand the need to promote colleges, to show how colleges are vital to every community and to have a positive solution-focused approach." @AoCDavidH#LoveOurColleges

"Cuts to college funding have meant... teaching staff in colleges are now paid an average of £7k less than in schools – making the recruitment and retention crisis across the wider-sector even more stark in further education" @AoCDavidH#LoveOurColleges https://t.co/p86KjdxHmH
A break from #LoveOurColleges tweets to reflect on the fact our youngest starts her GCSEs tomorrow and eldest her a-levels next week - to all those taking exams good luck over the next few weeks and may your hard work be rewarded

HMCI: There is and will be no Ofsted curriculum. What we will be interested in is the coherence, the sequencing and construction, the implementation of the curriculum, how it is being taught and how well children and young people are progressing in it. #OftedAR18
