I'm loving the writer's conference! #MMW2024 #SCBWI The only problem is deciding which breakouts to go to! Writing historical fiction? Adding humor in writing? Non-fictiony fiction PB? The lagging plot in the middle of a novel? Too many decisions... but good ones!

I've become weirdly fascinated by a guy on Instagram @SBMowing who mows overgrown yards for free. He drives around to find a lawn/yard in need. So satisfying to watch him mow and find the world underneath!

I love that moment when a new story begins percolating in my brain. It festers and grows while I shower, walk, or zone out. I gather the details in my head but won't start writing until I can see beyond the setting and characters and the entire world develops.
