It is not solely a "far left" concern to wonder just why this proposed sub (a) costs 6x as much as the current most-expensive sub class ever built, (b) why we "need" SSNs (rather than SS), and (c) why we can't build them until 204X under this plan.

@tanya_plibersek When you went to uni (late 80s), HECS was only just starting to be introduced. Most of your uni education (journalism, UTS) was free. And when HECS was introduced, it was a flat $1,800 p.a. per student. Now, med school fees run to $35,000 p.a. or more.
