To us there's a difference between "He's Russian" (he's a slav from Russia) and "he came from Russia" (his nationality is Russian). Because the Twitter translation thing translates everything literally, idioms and meaning behind phrases gets lost. (2)

Yeah 100% agree. Not all slavic people are Russian, just like not all Russian are slavic. Nationality and ethnicity are 2 completely different concepts.
The confusing arises in the language difference. When we say "x person is Russian", we always mean ethnicity.(1)

@clvbsick But if you're race swapping a character that's meant to be a part of an oppressed ethnic group, then that's racist. Doesn't matter what race that character originally was, because by doing so you're taking away representation from that ethnic group. (4)

@clvbsick The fact of the matter is, slavic people are white. If you change the skin color, then that person is not a part of that ethnic group. Rather they are their own group, a slav + something. If people want to make ocs that are a part of that mixed group, then go ahead (3)

@Demonking1YT Thank you so much. Like genuinely if people just created OCs with a similar design instead of race swapping characters, no one will have a problem with that. You want the representation, then go make it for yourself instead of changing existing characters.

@DruffyBr @Demonking1YT The design does look nice. I don't think there is a character with a similar design, so by all means you're free to create your own. Like maybe one of the Fatui could that's originally from Natlan or Sumeru desert, so that they have the status to wear something like that.

If black people could survive the climate with little to no sun, white people wouldn't exist.
Darkest slavs are on par with Italians in terms of skin color.

They refuse to accept that other races could have been oppressed. They actively try to change the race of characters that represent other white cultures.(1)
