whewwwww… he loved himself a Fall release!
On this day in 1999, MF DOOM released his debut studio album 'Operation: Doomsday.' He recorded the classic project over a three week period, in between naps.
@MFDOOM sampled everything from cartoon soundtracks to '80s soul and rap tracks. In a 1999 interview with Life Sucks Die Magazine, he shared his artistic approach: "A lot of these rappers out here, they got the public looking at them like they're the character they're talking about in the song. See, when I do music each song is like a scene, like part of a screenplay."
45 years with Controversy 💜
On this day in 1981, Prince released his fourth album, Controversy, marking today as the 45th anniversary! Released just 12 months after Dirty Mind, Controversy demonstrated Prince's evolving worldview and further demonstrated a growing resistance to the political tensions that shaped the era.
With powerful singles such as Sexuality, Let's Work and and of course, Controversy, Prince articulated a new declaration of freedom, “let your body be free."
What track from Controversy forever shaped you?

‘Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!’
📺DEBUT: ‘Saturday Night Live’ premiered 51 years ago, October 11, 1975, on NBC, originally titled, ‘NBC’s Saturday Night.’
Lorne Michaels originally wanted the name ‘Saturday Night Live,’ but ABC had debuted a prime-time variety show called ‘Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell’ three weeks earlier. Cosell’s cast was called the ‘Prime Time Players,’ while NBC’s ensemble became the ‘Not Ready for Prime Time Players,’ a cheeky nod to their late-night time slot.
George Carlin hosted the premiere, with musical guests Billy Preston and Janis Ian. After ABC canceled Cosell’s show, NBC officially adopted the ‘Saturday Night Live’ title in 1977
