My grandparents had 8 kids.

Their home had 4 bedrooms: one master and 3 TINY extra bedrooms with bunk beds (3 kids, 3 kids, and 2 kids respectively).

They had one car, and my grandma didn’t drive. She walked through the forest to the trolley with all the kids to get into town.

One small tv.

A small kitchen where she was always cooking.

And they were well off for the times. My grandpa was an engineer.

People simply lived more frugally.
