@JaneyGodley I’ve got a crap sense of humour so I particularly grateful to you for all the laughs. Your honesty - in everything - has been an inspiration. Thank you.

@mhclg@AngelaRayner It’s great to see housebuilding as a key government priority. But safety - for workers and end users - must also be central to construction.
@devin_scobie@apstalk And on King’s Speech day too! It’s great to see housebuilding at the forefront but, in the rush to build, it’s important to make sure the foundations are sound. Safety - for workers and end users - should always be central to construction.
Hannah Martinez discusses the industry's recruitment issues, and Shirley Parsons take on this.

@liam_abbott1@ChrisGPackham Go back to the source: GL did not break the editorial guidelines. Read them. PS not saying one way or other if the guidelines are right. But, as it stands, he didn’t breach rules.
@campbellclaret If you read the BBC guidelines - and there is a helpful example for just the current situation - it is clear GF did not breach the rules. In which case the only concern must be the number of people who follow him and not what he said.
@80sRuss@prodnose Go back to the source. Read the actual guidelines. There is a worked example for just this situation. Lineker did not breach the rules. All the rest is puff.
@davidb2010m@campbellclaret Not saying they don’t or haven’t - or won’t. But Labour’s not the government. It matters who holds the seals of office in that moment. I’m not a supporter of either party but believe in the Nolan principles of public life - and he was commissioned by the Major government.
@RestIsPolitics@campbellclaret@RoryStewartUK At what point of public disengagement with politics does the country need to reach before parliament ceases to have legitimacy? And, is the decline the fault of the professional government affairs industry and its route to becoming an MP?
The Retained EU Law Bill could produce a hefty price tag, including:
💧£20.6bn - damage to rivers
😮💨£44.9bn - poorer air quality
🧪£16.4bn - weaker chemical rules
🥀£1bn - weaker nature protections
The #REULBill must be scrapped👇

Our national safety is under threat. The Retained EU Law Bill attacks sensible safeguards & protections by pretending to be business friendly. Casting off regulations, under the cloak of dismantling EU rules, doesn’t just turn back the clock - it dials back our hard-won rights.
