Trail Runner Of The Year

Trail Runner of the Year (TROY) voting is open now! This the second edition of our annual end-of-season award, celebrating the great performances and the great athletes of the 2023 season. Joining to break it down is @tbloncar, the creator and steward of Freetrail Fantasy & TROY.

We discuss some important updates to the voting algorithm, the brand new Trail Performance of the Year (TPOY), and some other details about this year's vote.

Voting will be open until 12pm on Monday, 12/11 with the rollout of winners beginning on January 1st, 2024.

The race is down to two men at Big's Backyard: Ihor Verys of Canada and Harvey Lewis of the U.S., since Poland's Bartosz Fudali has refused to continue. All three completed 103 yards, or more than 690 km–a new world record. May the best man win! 🇨🇦🇺🇸

Canada’s Amanda Nelson is out of Big’s Backyard. Her legs collapsed after she crossed the line at the end of her 57th lap (382 km).
“I’ve never had my legs do that to me!” Nelson said. She’s now resting in her tent in good spirits. 🇨🇦
