@ListerLawrence@AvonandsomerRob Had one for 4 years in large 1950s house. It works well down to -3C when a gas boiler kicks in to help. It uses vast amount of ‘Lec but we have 100 solar panels. Heating bill was +£6k/yr now Zero. Payback is c11 years.
@ListerLawrence I did not have one but in 2008 I spent time in Switzerland with both the Q7 v12 and an R63. The R63 was much faster off the line but the Q7 did corner better and its noise at idle was epic! Only thing better at idle is a PII with the cut out open. 😬
@ListerLawrence@M_perez949 Not much can really ever beat a Corniche. I’ve had ours for 30 years and still can’t find anything that works better for us.
@AutoPap Totally true, only the unicorns return any profit. I allow £6k/year of ownership cost on a classic which over my 30 years and 60k miles of use is about £2mile + fuel & insurance on top. If I sold it then capital growth has halved that annual cost of ownership but still no profit!
@Autoweltmedia We had a 420 estate. It was brilliant. I had it for 12 years and it ran perfectly for the first 11 years and the suddenly rusted very badly. I then bought an R class.
@ListerLawrence@mindofprospect I grumble when I see convertible cars with the roof up - I secretly suspect it is to stop the ‘hair do’ from being blown in the wind!
