The founding fathers actually loved England and were deeply patriotic. They wanted so much to have representation in London.
It was the lack of representation that led to the Declaration of Independence.
All members of the Committee of Five were American colonists born in the Thirteen Colonies (British America). At the time of writing in 1776, they were technically British subjects because the colonies were still under the rule of the Kingdom of Great Britain.
