You post this like it's some vindication of everything you've said. Maybe you should read the article again. The settlers believed it was a closed area. You entered that area without IDF awareness or support. Your big statement was someone from your team telling the soldiers you spoke with the police and they said to let them go. Forgive them for not believing you. You don't understand the security threats faced by Israelis every day. You and your group were unknown, in an area that they felt was off-limits. They didn't start shooting and they didn't firebomb your car. They detained you until proper authorities can get there and provide verification, as opposed to accepting your self-verification.
