Cade knows good times are coming in Detroit. One day soon he will lead the Pistons back to relevancy and then contending for NBA titles. Iโm going to enjoy the ride!
Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham has agreed on a five-year, $224 million maximum rookie extension that could become worth as much as $269 million, his agents Jeff Schwartz and James Dunleavy of @ExcelBasketball tell ESPN.
@BigDaddyJudah@KeithSmithNBA idk. I'd say just one (and maybe some 2nds) with MPJ being FA after the season and the Nets getting both Holland and DRob in the deal.
One potential solution (not sure if its legal) for matching MPJ's salary would be to include Wendell Moore Jr as a sign/trade component. He's listed on Spotracs Trade Machines as eligible for a sign/trade and @KeithSmithNBA put In lots of time to make sure it flags illegal trades
I know the first comment will be why would BKLN want to pay Moore $6.65M? Answer the money is already spent (would of went to Porter), and by taking just Moore instead of multiple players they won't have to cut anyone to clear a roster spot for the extra player.
Don't mind DRob going to MEM (he'd go to BKLN) Because DRobs salary is only guaranteed for $2M that's all his outgoing salary counts for on this trade machine, UNLESS he's traded into a TPE (which MEM had) than it counts for the full $15.9M.
If legal, this could be an option
In a nutshell the PIstons basically dumped Stew & LeVert then swapped out Harris/Sasser for Collins/Joe to afford Durens raise and add Prince/Harris
@JeffreyVocemb8@XxPurePistonsxX Whatever we pay Duren has no bearing on how much salary DET would have to send out to trade for MPJ, Its still $30m+
You can't combine exceptions together or with other players. If you have a $15m TPE you can use it to trade for a player or players making up to $15M. That's it!
@JeffreyVocemb8@XxPurePistonsxX That's now how it works
Pistons do not have $48M in cap space to spend. They are $48m under the tax line. To trade for MPJ they need to send out over $30M in salary to make the trade legal.
That would take DRob. Holland, Jenkins & Tolu as I originally posted.
@XxPurePistonsxX No
First off that's only $20m in outgoing salary. Pistons would need to send over $30m out. Even if they added Holland they're still about $1m short. They can'r combine TPEs & Players
Again Harris can not be included with any other PIstons players in a trade until after 12/15
Get Duren signed. Give him 5 yrs for $180m but make it on a declining scale.
42/39/36/33/30
Make the last 2 seasons player options giving Duren the chance to opt out after 3/117 or 4/150. He gets $ he wants the first few years & the chance for another huge contract at age 25
Duren Sign and Trade to BKLN Option 4.0
- Nets would send the 3 second round picks to DAL for the Pistons to aquire Gafford
Cade/Ausar/Porter/Collins/Gafford
Okorie/Joe/Green/Prince/Reed
Jenkins/Harris/Huerter/Clowney/Smith
The current projected Pistons depth chart from Hoops Hype (Duren not listed). Did they get it right? What changes would you make?
Starting 5 looks good, but i'd have Okorie and Joe on the 2nd unit over Jenkins and Huerter.
