Year 10 Triple (T2) used model waves to investigate how wave speed changes with the depth of water today. Da iawn blwyddyn 10. Have a lovely half term all. Excellent pupils! @MorristonComp
Year 7 pupils were given the opportunity to lead their own learning about plant and animal cells in Mrs Beck’s class. They had the choice of learning through origami, drawing and labelling cells on their desks or through playing a game. Fantastic!
The Science Block Elf has been at it again. Mrs Pompa was the target of the Elf wrapping extravaganza this year! 🎄🌲🎄
Happy Holidays from MCS Science Department.

10D3 learning all about the organs of the digestive system with Mrs Beck in Biology today. Here are just some of their excellent drawings of organs worn by some wonderful models.
9F3 pupils completed a nutrient scavenger hunt in teams in Dr. Forsyth’s class before sharing their findings with their partners. We’ve enjoyed the start to our healthy lifestyle topic. Healthy diet, healthy body, healthy mind, healthy motivations @MorristonComp
9E3 did an excellent job at making and wiring mini shoebox houses today with Mrs Beck. They used a mixture of series and parallel circuits to light up their shoebox homes and these were just some of the fantastic results. Future electricians in the making? @MorristonComp
Year 8 have built upon their knowledge of acid reactions even further this week. Today they made copper sulfate from a copper oxide base and sulfuric acid. Watch this space for the copper sulfate crystals to form as they leave the solution to evaporate over the weekend 👩🏻🔬
8E1 used trial and error to find the point of neutralisation between hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide today. They were challenged to add and then adjust their volumes of acid and alkali until a neutral pH was reached. Da iawn blwyddyn 8!
Year 8 have been learning all about acids and alkalis so far this term. Today they tested lots of household items to determine their pH and whether they were acid, alkali or neutral. Da iawn blwyddyn 8! Arddechog!
It’s been a great day seeing year 7s completing their fun filled day and catching up with both new and returning sixth form. We are looking forward to welcoming all year groups back into their Science lessons tomorrow @MorristonComp! 👩🏻🔬🧬🧪🔭
