Scots fall to Huntingdon in their first semifinal game. Maryville is back in action tonight at 5:00 PM, taking on the winner of the Belhaven vs. Piedmont game 🥎
Maryville holds the Blazers to just two runs across seven innings 🥎
Catie Zani ignited the Scots' offense in the top of the first, hitting a three run home run over the centerfield fence
The Scots held Belhaven scoreless for six innings until the Blazers capitalized on a single to shortstop to bring in two runs, pressuring Maryville with bases loaded and one out. Two popups ended the game, 3-2, dropping the Blazers to a 0-1 start of the tournament
Sydney Dickinson dominated in the circle, facing 28 batters across six innings, only giving up four hits and two runs. Whitney Carr made an appearance, facing three batters, and Tia Stewart closed out the inning, earning her first save on the season
Maryville is back in action tomorrow at tomorrow at 11:00 AM CT, taking on the winner of the Huntingdon vs. Piedmont game ⚔️
Ryleigh Maples shined in the box, bringing in four of Maryville's seven runs, supported by RBIs from Paige Dickinson, Olivia Harris, and Desiree Nance. 🥎
The Scots earned a small lead in the bottom of the third before LaGrange rallied back and took the lead in the top of the fifth, 2-1. A big hit from P. Dickinson in the bottom of th esixth kicked off scoring for the Scots, managing to earn five runs with two outs on the board, ultimately taking down the Panthers, 7-2.
In the circle, Tia Stewart gave up six hits and one earned run while striking out seven. Whitney Carr closed the final inning for the Scots, only giving up two hits.
Maryville is back in action tomorrow, April 30 at 11:00 AM, taking on #1 Belhaven in the first game of the CCS Quarterfinals. ⚔️
Kaylee Peyret kicked off scoring for the Scots before Sydney Dickinson singled through the left side to bring in two more. After a 3-0 lead, Zani brings in two more with a big homer over the left field fence. The Harris duo wrapped up scoring for the Scots, bringing in three more, and earning Maryville the win, 9-3 🥎
Tia Stewart worked in the circle, facing 24 batters across five innings while adding three strikeouts to her total. Whitney Carr finished out the game, facing eight batters, only giving up one hit and adding a strikeout to wrap up game one of the double header ⚔️
Maryville's big first inning took down the Eagles! The Scots' were powered by Catie Zani, Olivia Harris, Abby Woodard, and Jessica Harris in the first to take a 6-0 lead ⚔️
A big homer by Zani and a single from Peyret in the second extended Maryville's lead to 9-0, and another homer from Paige Dickinson and a double from Je. Harris wrapped up game one, 11-1!
