MCSO is asking the public's help on locating 70 y/o Susan Thomas. She was last observed walking westbound on Apache Trail and 114th on 5/11/26, at approximately 3am.

MCSO is working an active brush fire near Horseshoe Lake. Personnel from Tonto National Forest are currently working the fire, and firefighting aircraft are operating overhead. For your safety, please stay clear of the area at this time.

MCSO is asking the public's help in locating 24-year-old Jadalynn Abarca. Last seen 03/03/2026, Jadalynn stated she was going on a trip for a few days due to suffering from postpartum depression.
Several deceased roosters were located as well as 157 live roosters on the property.
Eight individuals were booked into the MCSO ITR facility for violation of ARS 13-2910.04 Being Present at a Cockfight.
This remains an active investigation.
On 4/4/26 MCSO responded to in reports of cockfighting in progress in Rainbow Valley.
Upon arrival, Deputies observed vehicles fleeing the scene and numerous individuals attempting to escape on foot.
Detectives located two active cockfighting rings and betting activity (1/2)
Sheriff Sheridan stopped by MASH 2 today to check on the horses seized by MCSO yesterday.
Justice does not end with rescue and rehabilitation alone. It also means holding accountable those who inflict abuse, neglect, and harm against animals who cannot speak or defend themselves
Additional animals on the property were seized and are receiving the care they need.
We implore the public to please contact MCSO regarding potential animal abuse cases before it is too late. (2/2)

MCSO Animal Crimes detectives are serving a search warrant in the area of 101st Dr. and Broadway Rd regarding an animal neglect case.
One horse had to unfortunately be humanely euthanized due to severe neglect and failure to provide emergency medical care.
Maricopa County Sheriff Jerry Sheridan is aware of and is personally following up on the animal neglect case our MCSO detectives have been working today.

2 additional horses were found on the property who have been severely neglected. Both have been seized by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and are being transported to receive emergency medical treatment
