No such release has happened. In fact, the exact opposite is true.
As of this morning, those funds (which have been sitting in Qatari banks since 2023) are more frozen than ever. Just hours ago, Iran's Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, posted on X that Iran refuses to negotiate a permanent ceasefire until those funds are released. If the money had been released, Iran wouldn't be using it as a primary condition for peace talks right now.
